Condenser (fig. 1-20).
The condenser is
located downstream of the heat exchanger.
Manufacturers make this counterflow plate-fin condenser entirely of
an aluminum alloy (fig. 1-21).

Operation (fig. 1-22).
The bleed air from the heat
exchanger passes through the rectangular type fins in the
opposite direction of the cooling air coming from the air
cycle machine turbine discharge.
Air tapped off from the
outlet end of the venturi duct heat the hollow flattened
tubes at the outlet of the bleed air side of the unit to
prevent ice from forming at the cold air inlet side of the
condenser.
Failure Mode.
If the condenser fails to remove the
moisture, the system may have excessive moisture delivered
to the outlets.
