The cable straps are now removed from the cable by removing the
screws (Item 20), the lockwashers (Item 21), and the flat washers
(Item 22) from the cable straps. Once this is accomplished, remove
the cable straps from the cable and remove the pull cable from the
vehicle. Be sure to discard the removed lockwashers.

The last item to be removed from the AFES MDS are the fire extinguisher
actuator cables for engine AFES fire extinguisher no. 2 and the crew AFES
fire extinguishers no. 3 and no. 4.
Use Figure 40 and the following
procedures to accomplish the removal process.
o First, remove and discard the cotter pins (Item 24) from the
actuator cable pins (Item 25) at the engine fire extinguisher no. 2
and crew fire extinguishers no. 3 and no. 4. Now remove the cable
pin (Item 25) and the flat washer (Item 26) from each fire
extinguisher.
