o Remove four screws (Item 13) and four lockwashers (Item 12) and
remove the actuator assembly (Item 15) from the vehicle.
Discard
the removed lockwashers.

The AFES MDS pull handle assembly is the next item to be removed.
Use
Figure 39 and the following procedures to accomplish this task.
o First, pull the cable handle (Item 14) free of the nut (Item 15).
o Now back out the fastener assembly (Item 16) from the handle (Item
14).
Remove the wedge (Item 17) from the fastener (Item 16) and
remove the cable (Item 18).
o You must now remove the nut (Item 15) from the outside end of the
handle tube.
o Now remove the adapter (Item 19) from the inside of the handle tube
and pull the cable free of the tube from inside the vehicle.
