Read the scenario and respond to the requirements that follow the
scenario.

Scenario
Since the 4000 pound and the 6000 pound capacity rough-terrain
forklifts are used quite extensively in your area, the effectiveness
of their operation, safety, and maintenance problems become your
responsibility as the shop maintenance officer.
It has been
considered by the Brigade Commander that some of your future
operators and mechanics need training in these areas. Therefore, you
as the shop officer must develop a program to train these
individuals.

After developing the training program, you check the following
questions to ensure that the operation, safety practice, and the
maintenance problems are accurate.
To validate the following
questions on the 6000 pound forklift, provide answers for the
following questions.
a.
What enables the forklift to move sideways at a 20 degree angle?
b.
How are the forks extended?
c.
What size is the load center of the forklift?
d.
What is the outside steering radius of the forklift in the CRAMP
steering mode?
e.
Which type of operations should be performed prior to starting
the forklift?
f.
What part must be checked first to ensure that it is in place
before driving the forklift into the surf?
g.
What position is the drive selector control lever placed in for
LOW-SPEED surf operations?
