M2/M3 BRADLEY FIGHTING VEHICLE: TURRET - OD1609 LESSON 3/TASK 3
(d)
If they were removed during earlier test procedures, install turret floor
plates (TM 9-2350-252-20-2, page 4-22).
c.
Test Continuation - Isolating a Fault.
When the SETCOM display shows a NO
FAULTS FOUND message, but a fault is evident in the system (i.e., the symptom which
prompted the test to be run in the first place is still present), further testing
will be required to try to isolate the component which is causing the malfunction.
Once the faulty component has been located and repaired or replaced, test 2640
should be repeated to verify a NO FAULTS FOUND condition.
(1)
Testing Wiring Harness 2W202. The first Suspect is wiring harness 2W202.
To see if wiring harness 2W202 is good, two tests are run.
If any of the tests
described in (a) and (b) below indicate that wiring harness, 2W202 is not good,
replace the wiring harness following the procedures outlined in TM 9-2350-252-20-2-
2, page 5-305. Then repeat test 2640 to verify that the problem has been solved.
(a)
Perform test 2390 between plug 2W202P1 and jack 2W202J1 at the diagnostic
panel jack 3.
(b)
If wiring harness tests good during test 2390 between plug 2W202P1 and
jack 2W202J1, perform test 2391 on jack 2W202J1 at the diagnostic panel jack J3.
(c)
If no faults are found in wiring harness 2W202 during the two tests in
(a) and (b) above, the problem could be a loose connection.
Therefore, the next
step is to check various connections for tightness.
(2)
Checking Connections for Tightness.
The following inspections should be
made for loose connections.
Whenever a loose connection is found, it should be
tightened.
First, turn the TURRET POWER switch and the MASTER POWER switch OFF.
Then manually traverse the turret to 3200 mils (TM 9-2350-252-10-2).
Finally,
perform these connections checks:
(a)
Check connections 2W302P7 to 2A200J2 and 2W301P1 to 2A200J1 (figure 33 on
the following page).
