Step 4.
Set the turret traverse lock.
These procedures, when needed, can be
found on page 2-141 of TM 9-2350-252-10-2.
Step 5.
Move the TURRET DRIVE SYSTEM switch to OFF.
Step 6.
Move the TURRET POWER switch to OFF.
Step 7.
Using a helper, open the turret shield door.
These procedures, when
needed, can be found on page 2-139 of TM 9-2350-252-10-2.
Step 8.
Remove the HE ammo can door by turning the handle to the right.
Remove
the HE ammo can door from the HE ammo can.
Step 9.
Unload the HE ammo from the HE feed chute by placing a 14mm ratchet
wrench on the shaft of the HE forwarder, with the wrench handle to the left. Put
upward pressure on the 14mm ratchet wrench and pull the HE release handle to the
right.
Hold the HE release handle to the right, while moving the 14mm ratchet
wrench to the straight down position. Let go of the HE release handle and turn the
14mm ratchet wrench right until the HE release handle pops back into place. Remove
the 14mm ratchet wrench from the shaft. Repeat this step until only two rounds are
visible in the HE feed chute.
Step 10.
Move the HE ammo onto the loading rail by removing the 25mm ammo can
door from the HE ammo can (figure 9, view A, on the following page). Reach into
the HE ammo and grasp the round nearest the HE forwarder. Pull the round onto the
loading rail, while releasing the last two rounds from the HE feed chute. Install
the 25mm ammo can door on the HE ammo can.
Step 11.
Pull the ammo belt from the HE ammo can by stretching and placing the
ammo belt on the vehicle floor.
NOTE
If the HE round does not release from the link, stop
pulling the HE round.
The HE round can be freed by
twisting and pulling up on the round at the same time.
