(14) When the elevation and azimuth crosshairs are not aligned
with the thermal resistor on the buddy vehicle, lift the NIGHT
BORESIGHT cover. Then align the elevation and azimuth crosshairs on
the thermal resistor of the buddy vehicle by turning the EL knob
(refer to figure 26 on page 33) to align the elevation crosshair and
the AZ knob to align the azimuth crosshair on the thermal resistor of
the buddy vehicle.
When the alignment is complete, close the NIGHT
BORESIGHT cover.
(15) Next, move the SENSOR SELECT switch to CLEAR or NEUTRAL.
(16) Check the alignment of the gun reticle on the boresight
lamp of the buddy vehicle. If the crosshairs in the gun reticle are
not
aligned
on
the
boresight
lamp
of
the
buddy
vehicle,
troubleshooting
will
be
required
to
correct
the
problem.
Troubleshooting procedures can be found, when required, in TM 9-2350-
252-20-2-1, chapter 3.
(17) When the crosshairs in the gun reticle are aligned on the
boresight lamp of the other vehicle, boresighting of the night sight
to day sight is complete.
The NIGHT VISION PWR switches in both
vehicles should be turned OFF, and the vehicles can be returned to
service.
