3 Wait for the display to change. If the new message on
the display reads FAULTY CX305, replace cable CX305 and repeat the
self-test.
If the new message FAULTY CIB appears, replace the CIB,
in accordance with the instructions found in TM 9-4910-751-14-1.
Then repeat the self-test.
(7) Ending the Self-test. Once it has been determined that all
of the STE test set components are operating properly, the self-test
is ready to be completed.
To finish the self-test, follow these
steps:
(a) Press the GO key.
The message TEST FINISHED PUSH STOP
AND CLEAR will appear on the display.
(b) Press the STOP key; then press the CLEAR key.
The
message ENTER TEST NUMBER will appear on the display. At this point,

SETCOM Messages
When using the STE in testing and troubleshooting, a number of
messages could appear on the SETCOM unit.
Often, these messages
refer to indexes in one or more technical manuals.
Two of these
indexes are described here:
a. Message Word Index.
The message word index directs the
mechanic to a message word.
The index contains the number of the
message word which should match the number appearing on the SETCOM
during testing. It also contains the name of the part to which the
message word number refers and the page number where the message word
can be found.
(1) Message Words. A message word is a drawing of a part of a
system. The drawing is used to find a part needed to test to find a
fault.
The SETCOM tells how to test the parts seen in the message
word. The message word drawings show the number of the message word,
the message word item name, the
