a frozen or binding steering yoke. Before SGT Fields can install the
locknut during reassembly, he must ensure that screw (1) can be free
pin fitted (see figure 9).
Step 10. After he makes sure that the screw is free pin fitted, he
installs connecting link (2), three washers (3), screw (1), and new
locknut (5) onto lever (6)(see figure 9).

Step 11.
SGT Fields then disconnects the connecting link from the
bellcrank (7) by removing cotter pin (8), locknut (9), screw (10),
two washers (11), and connecting link (12)(see figure 9).
Step 12. It is after this disconnection that SGT Fields rotates the
steering yoke to the right and to the left to see if it is still
binding or frozen.
