Introduction
In the introduction to task 1, it was stated that there are two versions of
the M2/M3 Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV).
The first is the M2 infantry
fighting vehicle (IFV). The IFV is used to transport a mechanized infantry
squad to and from the scene of battle and to allow this squad to keep up
with and to continually engage the enemy.
The second is the M3 cavalry
fighting vehicle (CFV). The CFV provides deployed infantry troops with fire
support and the ability to adjust rapidly to the changing scheme of the
battle or to pursue the enemy.
In this task, the mission assignments of each version will be discussed as
well as the differences between the two.
