--
Remove the four screws (29) and the cover (28).
--
Cut away the sleeve on the wire from capacitor C1 (27)
positive (+) end.
--
Desolder and remove the capacitor wires from terminals E4
(21) and E1 (26). Tag the other wire joined to E4 (comes
from filter FL1 through the shaft).
With a sharp knife,
cut the bond holding capacitor C1 to the chassis (20).
Scrape out any leftover bond material.
Replacement.
--
Put a piece of insulating tubing on the positive (+) end
wire of capacitor C1. Cut its length just enough to go to
the output terminal E4 when the capacitor is midway
between E4 and E1.
--
Connect the capacitor positive (+) end wire together with
the tagged wire from filter FL1 (9) to terminal E4.
--
Connect the capacitor negative (plain) end wire to
terminal E1.
--
Bond the capacitor to the chassis (20) with staking
compound.
--
Apply sealing compound to the four screws (29).
--
Put on cover and secure with the four screws.
3-46. ACA Cable removal/replacement.
Removal.
--
Remove three screws (7) and cable support cover (6).
--
Peel away the plastic coating at the terminals E2 (11) and
E3 (13) with diode CR1 (12) and FL1 (9).
--
Use the heatsink when work is done on the diode. Desolder
and take off the two cable (3) wires from CR1 and FL1.
--
Squeeze the strain relief bushing (5) and gently pull the
cable from the cable support box (14) through the bushing.
Replacement.
--
Thread the cable through the strain relief bushing.
--
Connect the cable positive (+) wire to filter FL1
terminal.
Find the positive wire running from the red
connector P1 (1) by an ohmmeter continuity check.
--
Clamp a heatsink onto the wire from terminal E2 to CR1.
