Final Drive Coupling Caps.

One version of the engine and transmission sling (1) has two holes (2

and 3) and the words TOP DECK stamped beside one hole (2). You use

the hole stamped TOP DECK when using this two-holed lifting device to

remove or install the top deck.

When you use this type of lifting

device to remove the powerpack, you must use the other hole (3)(fig.

1-13).

Another version of the engine and transmission sling (1) has three

holes (4, 5, 6). One hole (4) has the words TOP DECK stamped beside

it, another hole (5) has the words TO STAND stamped beside it, and

the last hole (6) has the words TO/FROM TANK stamped beside it. When

you use this type of lifting device to remove the powerpack, you must

use the hole stamped TO/FROM TANK (6)(fig. 1-13).

h. Attach the Engine and Transmission Sling to the Hoist. Make

sure you have positioned the sling's clevis in the correct lifting

hole. Lower the hoist hook (9) over the sling and put the hoist hook

through the ring (10) of the clevis (fig. 1-13).

WARNING

USE GROUND GUIDES WHEN MOVING THE HOIST VEHICLE IN PLACE.

FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH.
