Again, SGT Boyle drains the air system.
He then removes
and inspects the air inlet check valves at air reservoirs number 2 and
3. He finds that the air inlet valve from reservoir number 2 needs to
be replaced.
The procedures for replacing the air inlet
check valve will be discussed in the following paragraphs. Prior to
beginning the actual maintenance task, SGT Boyle reads through the
Initial Setup section of the procedure to determine the necessary
tools and equipment needed to do the job. For this particular task,
he will need a mechanic's general toolbox and pipe thread sealing
compound. After the necessary tools and equipment have been gathered
together, SGT Boyle ensures that the air system has been drained. He
