MAINTENANCE OF THE HEMTT - OD1662 - LESSON 1/TASK 2
(1) Troubleshooting Procedure.
Step 1.
SGT Boyle begins by checking the reservoir drain valve
(figure 36) to see if it is open or leaking. Since it is not open or
leaking, he proceeds to the next step.

RESERVOIR DRAIN VALVE.
Step 2.
He checks the air lines, connections, and air system
components for leaks or damage. Since the air lines, connections, and
air system components are not leaking and are not damaged, he goes on
to step 3.
Figure 37 (on the following page) shows the location of components
discussed in the next three troubleshooting steps.
Step 3.
In this step, SGT Boyle checks for a restricted air
compressor inlet line. Since the line is not restricted, he goes on
to step 4.
Step 4.
He checks for a restricted air compressor discharge line.
Again, the line was not restricted, so he proceeds to step 5.
Step 5.
Now SGT Boyle drains the air system.
He disconnects the
governor signal line number 159 from the air governor. He disconnects
air discharge line number 126 from the air compressor.
