WARNING
The negative battery cable must be disconnected
before
disconnecting
any
harness
from
the
protective control box, or injury to personnel
and/or damage to equipment may result.
Step 3. Disconnect the negative battery cable and the engine harness
connector from the protective control box.

and lead 568A, and also between pin F and lead 5A in the engine
If continuity is present, replace the
protective control box, following the procedures contained in
paragraph 4-5 of the TM.

If the wiring harness is beyond repair,
notify IDS maintenance.

Starting System.
Malfunction:
STARTER WILL NOT CRANK.
While reading through the
following paragraphs, refer to figure 3 on the following page.
Step 1. Prior to performing the troubleshooting procedures for this
malfunction, perform steps 1 through 4 for the malfunction: ALL
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS INOPERATIVE.
These procedures can be found in
paragraphs 4b(1) Step 1 through 4b(1) Step 4 on pages 11 and 12.
Step 2. With the rotary switch held in the START position, check for
battery voltage on lead 74A at the starter.
If battery voltage is
present, replace the starter, following the procedures in paragraph
4-8 of the TM.
