Connect the digital multimeter (DMM) leads between METER TP4 and RTN
TP16.
WARNING
Laser should not fire in the next steps, but may fire
if a defect exists. Observe WARNINGS in figure 1-1 of
this lesson before proceeding.
NOTE:
Fault locator POWER S2 switch remains OFF throughout the PFN V DC
adjustment.
On the LD/R set the POWER switch to ON and the DES/RNG1/RNG2 switch to DES.
Set the fault locator LASER START/ON/OFF S9 switch to START, then to ON.
NOTE:
In the following steps, you measure voltage.
The measurement is
scaled with 1 volt measured equaling 1000 volts DC actual. Example:
0.850 VDC measured equals 850 VDC actual. Compare this measurement
and calculation with the operating voltage indicated on the
operating voltage label located in the interior of the transceiver
assembly. Calculations must be equal to the operating voltage label
10 VDC.
Read the meter and multiply by 1000.
A reading of 10 volts from the
operating voltage is within tolerance.
If the reading is not within
tolerance, adjust A1A1R94 of the power supply card A1A1 until you obtain the
proper voltage.
If you cannot adjust the voltage to within tolerance,
troubleshoot using the designating troubleshooting table in the TM.
Return the equipment to normal. On the fault locator, set S9 to OFF and S8
to INHIBIT. Turn the LD/R POWER switch to OFF and disconnect the DMM from
jumper wire from A2A2W1J1 and push the sleeving back over the wires. Return
to the appropriate maintenance procedures and continue installation.
f. IFIST Installation Procedures. The IFIST installation consists of
procedures to modify the M113A1 personnel carrier to accommodate the G/VLLD
vehicle configuration. These procedures
