The diagrams use a half circle as the symbol indicating a
maintenance test point for taking various voltage and
Support Electrical Systems Test Set (DSTEST). The number
in the top portion of the symbol shows the test point
reference number. For example:
Wire Symbols.
The first number of a wiring harness
the wiring harness. When a wiring harness has 1 as the first
number, it is a turret wiring harness, 2 indicates a hull
wiring harness; and 3 indicates an engine wiring harness. For
example, when you see wire harness 2W159, you know this
harness is part of the hull wiring circuits because the
identification number starts with a 2.
Each wiring harness has its identification number on the left
side of the harness connection points.
The connectors on a
wire harness have the designation P (e.g., P1, P2, etc.), and
the connectors on electrical component assemblies have the
designation J (e.g., J5, J7, etc.).
