Introduction
The previous task served to familiarize you with the M88A1 series recovery
vehicle by providing a description of the purpose, capabilities, features,
major systems, assemblies and components of this vehicle. Now that you are
familiar with this vehicle, we will describe the operation of the components
of the suspension system and the procedures for track, sprocket, and
roadwheel classification. When any of the track and suspension components
are damaged, the mission requirements of the this recovery vehicle cannot be
accomplished and certain maintenance functions must be performed.
An Armor/Cavalry Maintenance Technician Warrant Officer will have the
responsibility to ensure that proper maintenance is performed on the track
and suspension system in order to return the vehicle
