jack J4. Next, install the plug CX306P2 onto CIB jack J5. Now that the STE
distribution box or the diagnostic panel.
To connect the STE
to the vehicle distribution box (figure 11 on page 59),
first remove the
dust cap from jack 1A1J14 (DCA 3) on the vehicle
distribution box.
Install plug CX1203P1 onto jack 1A1J14 (DCA 3).
Then
hook up the STE to
the vehicle by installing CX306P1 onto CX1203 connector
P2.
WARNING
If the turret is operated with the turret shield door
open, soldiers could be killed or injured. Close and
latch the turret shield door before operating the
turret.
To connect the STE to the diagnostic panel, first remove the center turret
floor plate (TM 9-23250-252-20-2-2, page 4-22). Move the test equipment to
the turret.
Then remove the cap from jack J1 on the diagnostic panel
(figure 12 on the previous page). Install plug CX306P1 on jack J1 of the
diagnostic panel. Then, place the vehicle MASTER POWER switch (figure 13 on
the following page) to the ON position. Then set the CIB ON/OFF switch to
With the STE properly hooked up to the vehicle, the self-test can be
performed. The procedures for performing the STE self-test will be covered
in paragraphs 3e(1) through 3e(3)(g), pages 63 through 73 of this task.
(2) Removing the STE.
Once the test set has been hooked up, the
self-test and required vehicle tests can be performed. During testing, all
message word numbers referred to by the STE-M1/FVS SETCOM should be written
down. After the STE-M1/FVS has been removed from the vehicle, refer to the
message words called out during the test and return the equipment to its
original configuration.
The initial steps for removing the STE from the
vehicle differ, depending on where the STE connection was made. To remove
the STE, follow the below listed procedures.
