d. Hooking Up the STE to the Vehicle. The STE-M1/FVS test set can be
hooked up to the BFV in either of two locations, depending on the test to be
performed.
(1) Hooking Up the STE. Some tests require that the STE be hooked up
to the vehicle distribution box; others require hookup to the diagnostic
panel. The hookup procedures are similar.
First, the test equipment must be removed from the transit cases. The VTM,
SETCOM, cable W1, CIB, cable CX306, and CX1203 are removed from their
respective transit cases. Then the test equipment is moved to the vehicle.
Then set the CIB
ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. Install the SETCOM on VTM jack J2 and
hook up the VTM to the CIB by installing plug W1P1 onto the VTM jack J1 and
plug W1P2 onto CIB
