PRACTICAL EXERCISE - ANSWERS
1.
The turret system on the BFV is divided into three subsystems.
These
subsystems are the turret, weapons, and auxiliary subsystems.

The four major parts that comprise the TOW missile system are the
integrated sight unit (ISU), command guidance electronics (CGE), power
control unit (PCU), and the TOW launcher.

The simplified test equipment-M1/fighting vehicle system (STE-M1/FVS)
test set is a sophisticated piece of test equipment that is a valuable tool
for testing components of the BFV.
The power for the operation of the test set is supplied by the vehicle. The
STE-M1/FVS test set combines common and peculiar hardware.
The common
hardware items are used for testing all the vehicles that the test set
supports.
This hardware is used in conjunction with the peculiar items
necessary to meet the requirements of the vehicle being tested.
The common hardware items consist of the vehicle test meter (VTM),
controllable interface box (CIB), set communicator (SETCOM), and associated
adapters and cable assemblies.

When troubleshooting the turret for the malfunction, TURRET DRIVE
SYSTEM INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT GO OFF, test number 2525 is initially
entered into the SETCOM.
