Disconnect the vehicle
battery ground cable from the battery before starting to
replace the generator voltage regulator.
Step 1.
Seat number 4 (IFV only) should be stowed.
The seat arrangement for
the BFV is described in TM 9-2350-252-10-1.
After stowing seat number 4,
disconnect the battery ground cable from the batteries, which are located in the
hull underneath seat number 4.
Step 2.
The trim vane should be lowered and secured, and the power unit access
door (both shown in figure 9 on the previous page) should be opened and secured to
provide access to the engine compartment.
Step 3.
Using electrical connector pliers, remove the plug (1) from the jack
(2)(figure 9).
Step 4.
Remove the regulator (3) from the generator (4) by removing two screws
(5), lockwashers (6) and washers (7). Discard the lockwashers.
Step 5.
Procure a new voltage regulator and install it onto the generator in
the reverse order of removal.

Step 1.
Move the MASTER POWER switch (1)(figure 1 on page 8) to the ON
position.
The volt gage indicator should be pointing either to the yellow or green
zone.
Step 2.
Because the volt gage indicator is in the yellow zone, move the ENGINE
ACCESSORY switch (3) to the ON position. Move the GEAR SELECTOR (4) to the START
position for 5 seconds and release. The starter should have cranked the engine.
Step 3.
If the starter did not turn the engine, move the ENGINE ACCESSORY
switch (3) to the OFF position. Move the MASTER POWER SWITCH (1) to the
