This test equipment is used to test a rangefinder containing a pulse
(Q-switched) Neodymium YAG laser transmitter. Severe eye damage may
result if the rangefinder is fired in an unauthorized area or at flat
glass surfaces unless proper eye protection is provided.
Any personnel without proper eye protection who may have been in the
vicinity of a laser firing must obtain an eye examination by an
ophthalmologist to be sure no eye damage has been done.
Eye protection:
Goggles, Safety Laser (NSN 4240-00-258-2054).
Medical surveillance is required for maintenance personnel as stated
in paragraph 1-5d(6), AR 40-46.
