Troubleshooting and maintenance of the LR Test Set will
be in accordance with TM 11-6625-2684-12 and TM 11-6625-
2684-30.
INTRODUCTION
When properly performed, maintenance ensures that an item of
equipment will perform the mission for which it is designed.
Personnel responsible for the proper maintenance of the LR Test Set
TS-3620/GVS-5
must
be
knowledgeable
and
properly
trained
to
accomplish the maintenance and repair of the equipment:
it plays a
critical role in support of the U.S. Army artillery firing missions.
As a Fire Control Systems Repairer (MOS 45G), ultimately you are
responsible for ensuring that the LR Test Set is capable of
performing its mission.
PART A - DESCRIPTION AND ORGANIZATIONAL LEVEL
OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Description.
The LR Test Set is designed to provide a rapid GO/NO-GO test of the
Laser Infrared Observation Device MX-9838/GVS-5 (LR).
It is also
used for troubleshooting; it provides calibrated optical signals to
check the ranging accuracy and monitors the transmitted laser output
from the LR.
