The LR Test Set is a portable, self-contained unit housed in a
combination transit and test case (see figure 1-1). The cover of the
(AC) power cable and the adapter cable assembly.
Additionally,
threaded bosses on the cover of the AC power cable compartment
provide for securing the alignment bracket assembly. The bottom half
of the case houses the electronics and the front panel of the LR
Tester. Located on the front panel is a threaded boss for mounting
the alignment bracket assembly, which in turn mounts the LR.
The front panel contains the switches, indicator lights, and
connectors which control the function of the LR Tester and provides
electrical interface with external test equipment.
Additionally,
when the LR is mounted on the alignment bracket assembly, optical
windows located on the front panel directly below the LR provide a
means for laser energy to safely enter the LR Tester and for optical
signals from the LR Tester to enter the LR.
The LR Test Set is 15.06 in. X 11.56 in. X 9.50 in. and weighs 30
lbs. It is designed to be operated in temperatures of 32 F to 131 F
to 10,000 ft. It may be shipped or stored in an environment of -70 F
to 160 F (-57 C to 71 C), relative humidity up to 94%, and
altitudes up to 40,000 ft.

Receipt Inspection.
The LR Test Set is intended solely to support the LR.
It is self-
contained and transportable by one individual.
It is shipped in a
standard commercial cardboard box in accordance with MIL-STD-746A.
Use standard procedure for unpacking.
NOTE:
Press relief valve on equipment case in accordance with
instructions on case.
Carefully release two latches on the
cover and open the cover.
Inspect the equipment for damage.
Report damage on DD Form 6 as
prescribed in AR 700-58.
Check equipment against component listing
on the equipment cover and the packing slip.
Report
discrepancies
on SF 361 as prescribed in AR 55-38. Check to see if the equipment
has been modified.
Modified equipment will have the modification
work order (MWO) number on the cover. Current MWOs applicable to the
equipment are listed in DA PAM 310-7.
