actual troubleshooting procedure.
WARNING
Before starting any troubleshooting on the M978
tanker, be sure to read and follow all safety
precautions in FM 10-71, Petroleum Tank Vehicle
Operations and TM 9-2320-279-10, Operate Tanker.
Liquids and vapors carried in the M978 tanker are
flammable and toxic and can cause injury or
death.
(1) Troubleshooting Procedures. Figure 44 shows the location of the
DLPG/VNPG gages in the M978 tanker.

Step 1.
SGT Rude checks the DLPG/VNPG gage tubing for looseness or
damage. Since the tubing did not appear to be loose or damaged, he proceeds
to step 2.
Step 2.
He checks for obstructions in the DLPG/VNPG gage tubing and in
the piping in the tubing connections. Since the tubing and piping were free
of obstructions, he moves on to the next step.
