(a) DLPG Cage. SGT Rude removes the DLPG gage (1)(figure 45 on the
previous page) from the tube (2).
After the gage has been removed he is ready to install the replacement
gage. This is done by first coating the threads of the DLPG gage (1)
with pipe thread sealing compound and installing the gage into the
tubing (2).
(b) VNPG Gage. To remove and replace the VNPG gage, SGT Rude removes
the VNPG gage (1)(figure 46) from the tubing (2).

When the old gage has been removed, SGT Rude is ready to install the
new gage.
He does this by coating the threads of the VNPG gage (1)
with pipe thread sealing compound.
He then installs the VNPG gage
into the tube (2).
After the gages have been replaced, SGT Rude performs the follow-on
maintenance tasks.
These consist of recirculating fuel through the
system, checking the DLPG/VNPG gages to ensure that they do not leak,
and for proper operation.
When he is certain that the gages are
operating correctly and that they are not leaking, he closes the pump
