Components of the Fire Suppression System
The fire suppression system on the M2/M3 Bradley fighting vehicle can
be operated automatically or manually.
The fire suppression system
consists of three pressurized fire bottles which store halon 1301
agent, four optical fire detecting sensors, two solenoid valves, and
an amplifier box control electronics.
a. Crew Compartment Fire Suppression. The crew compartment fire
suppression system can be operated either manually or automatically.
The crew compartment is protected by two pressurized fire bottles
containing halon 1301 agent, four optical fire detecting sensors, and
control electronics.
