The following procedures should be performed only when the VTM is
connected to DCA 3. First, set the TEST SELECT switches to 60. Then
press and release the TEST button. If VEH ID does not appear on the
display, refer to TM 9-4910-751-14-1.
Assuming that the display
showed VEH ID, set the TEST SELECT switches to 16, then press and
release the TEST button. Next, set the TEST SELECT switches to 61,
then press and release the TEST button. If 16 does not flash on the
VTM display, refer to TM 9-4910-751-14-1.
Again, it should be
pointed out that these procedures are performed only if the VTM is
connected to DCA 3.
Now dial 62 into the TEST SELECT switches and press and release the
TEST button.
If the DCA to which the VTM is connected does not
appear on the VTM display, refer to TM 9-4910-751-14-1.
From this
point on, proceed with the troubleshooting procedures as cited in TM
9-2350-252-20-1-1.
To remove the test set from the DCA 3 or 13, first, pull the VTM
Then move the MASTER POWER switch OFF.
Now
disconnect plug W1P2 from the distribution box jack to which it is
connected.
Install the cap on the jack from which the plug was
disconnected. Remove plug W1P1 from the VTM jack J1. Stow the VTM
and cable W1 in the transit case.
(2) Hook Up STE-M1/FVS (VTM only) to Vehicle Batteries. To hook
up the VTM to the vehicle batteries, first, remove the VTM and cable
W5 from the transit case.
NOTE
Make sure that the VTM does not touch metal.
False readings can result when the VTM touches
metal.
Once the VTM and cable W5 have been removed from the transit case,
move the equipment out to the vehicle. After the equipment is at the
