(2) In figure 24, A is the side opposite the 30,, angle, C is the
hypotenuse, and B is the adjacent side. Sine 60,, equals .866 (Table 11 on
the following page); and since sine 60,, = side opposite + hypotenuse = B/C,
then B/C = .866.
Therefore, B = .866 x C, the hypotenuse.
Thus, the
following relationship is derived:
side opposite 60,, angle = .866 x
hypotenuse.
