MAINTENANCE OF THE AUTOMATIC FIRE EXTINGUISHER
OVERVIEW
TASK DESCRIPTION:
In this lesson you will learn the procedures used to maintain the AFES
installed on the M992 ammunition carrier. This will include an introduction
to the M992 Ammunition Carrier and the AFES, familiarization with the three
AFES subsystems, the activation and deactivation process of the AFES,
removal and installation of AFES components, and performance of tests on the
AFES systems.
Applicable safety precautions relative to personnel and
equipment will also be addressed.
