Introduction
From the time when man became concerned about moving large objects
from one location to another, he started to think about some form of
help.
As time progressed, man realized that loading and unloading
heavy objects was a burdensome, time consuming, back breaking chore.
Therefore, he started to think of means to alleviate this type of
situation, developing devices that would assist him in this endeavor.
As man progressed, transportation and moving became more demanding in
all phases of life, most particularly so in the military. Equipment,
supplies, ammunition, etc., needed to be removed from ships, trucks,
containers, warehouses, and redistributed to other locations where
these supplies were needed.
As a result of this requirement, man
devised vehicles that would pickup, transport, load and unload
containers and various types of equipment ranging from 50 pounds to
several tons. This device became known as the forklift. During this
task, you will be introduced to the rough-terrain, 6000 pound
capacity forklift.
