(a) The ammo feed system is powered by the coax machinegun.
(b) The coax machinegun is a 7.62mm, rotor installed, gas operated, air
cooled, fully automatic machinegun.
(c) The coax machinegun can be operated manually or with electrical
power.
(d) The
vehicle
interlocks
prevent
the
coax
machinegun
from
firing
electrically if:
1 the coax machinegun is below 1ƒ over the rear deck;
2 the coax machinegun is over the cargo hatch cover, and the cargo
hatch cover is open past the POP-UP position; and
3 the coax machinegun is over the driver's hatch cover, and the
driver's hatch cover is open past the POP-UP position.
(e) The ISU allows day and night vision for aiming the coax machinegun.
(3) TOW Launcher.
(a) The
TOW
missile
is
tube
launched,
optically
tracked,
and
wire
guided.
(b) The TOW launcher holds two TOW missiles, with one TOW missile being
fired at a time.
(c) The select lever on the TOW launcher allows both power and manual
TOW rotor operation.
(d) The elevation handwheel on the TOW launcher allows manual elevation
of the TOW launcher.
(e) The TOW control box allows the launcher to be moved electrically to
a firing or stowed position, allows missile tube selection, and allows TOW guidance
system testing.
(f) The indicator lights tell when a TOW test fails, which system fails,
and the condition of the TOW.
