Step 1.
Make sure cable CX304, cable CX305, and shorting plug TA301 are not cut
or frayed.
Step 2.
Check cable CX304, cable CX305, and shorting plug TA301 for bent or
broken connector pins, cracked or dented connector shells, and dirt.

Hooking Up the STE to the Vehicle
a.
General.
The STE-M1/FVS test set can be hooked up to the BFV in either of
two locations, depending on the test to be performed.
b.
Hooking Up the STE.
Some tests require that the STE be hooked up to the
vehicle distribution box; others require hookup to the turret diagnostic panel.
The hookup procedures are similar.
Step 1.
The VTM, SETCOM, cable W1, the CIB, cables CX306 and CX1203 are each
removed from their respective transit cases. Then, the test equipment is moved to
the vehicle.
Step 2.
OFF position.
Step 3.
Set the CIB ON/OFF switch (figure 18 on the following page) to the OFF
position.
Step 4.
Install the SETCOM on VTM jack J2 (figure 19 on page 107).
Step 5.
Hook up the VTM to the CIB by installing plug W1P1 onto the VTM jack
J1, and plug W1P2 onto CIB jack J4.
Step 6.
Install plug CX306P2 onto the CIB jack 35.
Step 7.
the
STE
can
be
connected to the vehicle distribution box or the diagnostic panel.

To connect the STE to the vehicle distribution box, (figure 20 on page
108), remove the dust cap from jack 1A1J14 (DCA 3) on the vehicle distribution box.
Install plug CX1203P1 onto jack 1A1J14 (DCA 3).
Then hook up the STE to the
vehicle by installing CX306P1 onto CX1203 connector P2.
