THE ISU AND BORESIGHT CONTROLS.
(1) ISU.
The ISU has both day and night vision sight relays
for the commander and gunner. It has a day vision telescopic sight
and a night vision sight which gives television type pictures of the
scene that is viewed.
The ISU provides day and night vision for
aiming the 25mm gun, the coaxial machinegun, and the TOW launcher.
Because it uses super-cooled circuits, the ISU must be on for at
least 10 minutes before it is used. The day/night viewer moves with
the weapons when the soldier is sighting and aiming.
The unity
window allows a target to be located in daylight for tracking with
the ISU.
The gunner's and commander's eyepieces both magnify the
target, enabling both the gunner
