Data Entry Tests.
It is sometimes necessary to
enter vehicle
information into the VTM in order to run a test.
Certain tests
require that a vehicle identification number (VID) or
the number of
cylinders be entered. The set-up table of a procedure
will list any
required entries as a pretest procedure.
(1) Test Number 58. Test number 58 is used to enter the number of
cylinders into the VTM.
This information remains in the VTM until
test number 58 is repeated, or the VTM is turned off.
If the
vehicle/equipment has a VID number assigned, then test number 60
should be used.
(2) Test Number 60. Test number 60 is used to enter the vehicle
identification number into the VTM.
This VID remains in the VTM
until test number 60 is repeated, or the power is turned off. Test
number 60 will accept VID numbers 01 through 28. If the VTM has been
programmed to recognize a particular VID, then the number of
cylinders will be automatically entered during test number 60.
c.
Data Display Tests. Data display tests are used to display data
previously stored in the VTM by data entry tests or to read the type
of transducer or DCA harness to which the VTM is connected.
(1) Test Number 59.
This test number displays the number of
cylinders stored in the VTM by test number 58 or by test number 60.
(2) Test Number 61. This test number displays the VID stored in
the VTM by test number 60.
(3) Test Number 62. This test number displays the ID for the type
of DCA installed DCA ID in the vehicle/equipment under test.
(4) Test Number 63.
This test number displays the ID for the
transducer connected to J2 of the VTM.
