f. Types of Thread Cutting Tool Gages.
Thread cutting tool gages
(figure 201) are hardened steel plates with cutouts around the perimeter.
Each cutout is marked with a number that represents the number of threads
per inch. A 29 angle, included with each gage, is used to set the thread
cutting tool. One gage is used for Acme standard threads and the other for
square cut threads.
