will not be covered in this subcourse.
Step 7.
Dial TEST SELECT to 62, then press and release the TEST
button.
If DCA13 does not appear on the VTM display, troubleshoot
the VTM for this malfunction using the procedures in TM 9-4910-751-
14-1.
Step 8. If all the tests on the VTM deliver proper displays, return
to the troubleshooting task being performed.

Performing STE-M1/FVS (VTM only) TEST NO. 10 ENGINE RPM (IDLE).
Before performing TEST NO. 10 ENGINE RPM (IDLE), the engine must be
stopped, the vehicle should be blocked, and the STE-M1/FVS (VTM only)
must be hooked up to DCA 3 or DCA 13 as described above. When these
equipment conditions are met, the following steps can be executed:
Step 1.
Dial TEST SELECT (refer to figure 4 on page 6) to 10 and
start the engine.
Step 2.
Press and release the test button.
Step 3. Check the display. If the display reads between 775 and 825
rpm, test NO. 10 passed.
If the display reads 0 rpm or an erratic
reading; the procedures for performing diagnostic troubleshooting for
STE-M1/FVS (VTM only) TEST NO. 10 ENGINE RPM (IDLE) can be found,
when needed, on page 3-920 of TM 9-2350-252-20-1-1. These procedures
will not be covered in this subcourse.
Step 4.
Once the
test
passes,
stop
the
engine
and
return
to
troubleshooting.

Performing STE-M1/FVS (VTM only) TEST NO. 10 ENGINE RPM (GOV.
SPEED).
Before performing TEST NO. 10 ENGINE RPM (GOV. SPEED), the
engine must be stopped, the vehicle should be blocked, and the STE-
M1/FVS (VTM only) must be hooked up to DCA 3 as described above.
When these equipment conditions are met, the following steps can be
executed:
Step 1.
Dial the TEST SELECT (refer to figure 4 on page 6) to 10.
Step 2.
Start the engine and then press and release the test button.
