the leads with the proper lead number (previously described) to prevent confusing
them with each other. Again, using the appropriate size wrench, remove lead 3W1E9
(1)(figure 12 on page 31) by removing nut (3), lockwasher (11), and washer (12)
from transducer 3A1MT (2).
Step 3.
Remove plug 3W1P11 (6) from transducer 3A1MT8 (7)(figure 13 on the
previous page) and tag the lead. Remove plug 3W1P10 (8) from transducer 3A1MT7 (9)
and tag the lead.
Using an appropriate size wrench, remove leads 3W4E1 (10) and
3W1E16 (11) by removing nut (13) and lockwasher (14) from terminal 3A1B1-2 (12);
also remove lead 3W1E14 (1) by removing nut (3) from terminal 3A1B1-3 (2) and tag
the lead.
Step 4.
Using an appropriate size wrench, remove lead 3W1E15 (4)(figure 14 on
the following page) by removing the nut (6) and lockwasher (7) from terminal 3A1B1-
4 (5).
Do not discard the lockwasher.
Also, using an appropriate size wrench,
remove lead 3W1E17 (8) by removing the nut (10) and lockwasher (11) from terminal
3A1B1-1 (9) and tag the lead. Do not discard the lockwasher. Cut the strap (11a)
on wiring harnesses 3W1 (12), 3W4 (13), and 3W5 (14). Discard the strap.
Step 5.
Remove the clamp (1)(figure 15 on page 35) from wiring harnesses 3W1
(2) and 3W4 (3) by removing the locknut (4) and screw (5) from the clamp (6).
Discard the locknut (4).
Using an offset screwdriver, remove the clamp (7) from
the wiring harness 3W1 (2a) by removing the locknut (8), screw (9), and clamp (7)
from the bracket (10). Discard the locknut.
Step 6.
Using an offset screwdriver, remove the clamp (11)(figure 16 on page
36) from the wiring harness 3W1 (2) by removing the locknut (12) and screw (13)
from two clamps (11, 14).
Discard the locknut.
Remove plug 3W1P13 (1) from
solenoid 3A111 (2a).
Step 7.
Remove plug 3W1P5 (3)(figure
17 on page 37) from transducer 3A1MT10
(4).
Remove lead 3W1E2 (5) by removing
the locknut (7) and lead 3W1E2 from the
right glow plug HR1 (6). Do not discard
the locknut. Remove lead 3W1E4 (1) from
the left glow plug HR2 (2) by removing
the locknut (3a).
Do not discard the
locknut.
