PART D - TROUBLESHOOTING THE APU SYSTEM
1.
General.
This part of the subcourse contains the procedures used to troubleshoot APU
of the M992 CAT.
Procedures used to troubleshoot the fuel system, air
intake system, the fuel electrical system, preheater and solenoid, engine
cooling system, generator charging system, and the starting system of the
M992 APU will be addressed in this order.
Before performing any troubleshooting procedure, be sure a problem truly
exists. Make sure you have made all preliminary checks and take a logical
approach.
When working on a system, be sure the requirements to activate
the system have been properly accomplished. Properly activate the system or
it will not work.
WARNING
Remove all jewelry and wristwatches before working on
electrical circuits.
