OVERVIEW
TASK DESCRIPTION:
In this lesson you will learn the procedures used to troubleshoot the
Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) installed in the M992 Carrier, Ammunition,
Tracked. This includes an introduction to the M992 Ammunition Carrier and
its role in support of the artillery mission, an introduction to the APU, a
description of the functions of the APU systems and components, preliminary
to troubleshoot APU components.

Learn the purpose, capabilities, and features of the M992
Ammunition Carrier.

Define the operation and maintenance facets of the APU.
c.
Identify the APU primary components and their location.
d.
Identify the controls and indicators of the APU control
box.

Describe the preliminary steps taken prior to application
of troubleshooting procedures.
f.
Describe troubleshooting steps and identify malfunctions
for the engine fuel system, air intake system, fuel
electrical system, preheaters and solenoids, engine
cooling system, generator charging system, and engine
starting system of the APU.
CONDITIONS:
Given the instructions in this subcourse and references from
the equipment technical manuals.
STANDARDS:
Identify malfunctions on the APU by following the applicable
troubleshooting procedures.
