way to do this is to use a supercharger or "blower". The General Motors (GM)
twocycle diesel uses a positive displacement type blower to force air into the
cylinders (Figure 113).

Air enters the cylinder through ports in the cylinder liner instead of through
intake valves (Figure 114). These ports are exposed each time the piston
moves down. Intake and exhaust will occur in the cylinder at the same time.
