(3) The engine generator, a 28-volt, three-phase, alternating current
unit, has a rated output of 100 amperes and obtains full output at 2,000 generator
RPM. The generator is self-cooled and utilizes a swivel-type mounting bracket.
Bearings support the rotor shaft which is belt driven from the drive end of the
shaft by a pulley.
c. 500-ampere test stand. The test stand (fig 1) has been designed so many
different types of systems relating to vehicles can be tested. Once you learn the
basic operation and functioning of the stand components many testing applications
should become apparent. One of the first things to do in preparing for operation
is to mount the generator or alternator to the test stand.
