b. Removing the STE.  Once the test set has been hooked up, the
self-test  and  required  vehicle  tests  can  be  performed.
During
testing,  all  message  word  numbers  referred  to  by  the  STE-M1/FVS
SETCOM should be written down.  After the STE-M1/FVS has been removed
from the vehicle, refer to the message words called out during the
test and return the equipment to its original configuration.
To
remove the STE, follow these steps:
(1) The initial steps for removing the STE from the vehicle
differ depending on where the STE connection was made.
(a) To  remove  the  STE  from  the  vehicle  distribution  box,
first set the CIB ON/OFF switch to OFF.
Then pull the VTM circuit
breaker OFF.
Next, turn the MASTER POWER switch OFF.
Remove plug
CX1203P1 from jack 1A1J14 (DCA 3) on the vehicle distribution box
(refer to figure 52 on the previous page).  Install the cap on jack
1A1J14 (DCA 3).  Then, remove plug CX306P1 from CX1203 connector P2.
