Changes  in  the  outside  air  temperature  of
Fahrenheit  (F)  (11  centigrade)  can  cause
the
night  sight  to  lose  accuracy.
Boresight
the
night sight to day sight whenever the outside
air
temperature changes by 20F.
(1) Start  the  engines  of  two  vehicles,  and  drive  the  two
vehicles to level ground.
Position the two vehicles facing each
other, no less than 656 feet (200 meters) apart.
Then stop the
engines of both vehicles.
(2) Turn the TURRET POWER switches in both vehicles ON.
(3) Turn ON the NIGHT VISION PWR switches (figure 28) in both
vehicles.  Remember, after the NIGHT VISION PWR switch is turned ON,
the  night  vision  assembly  needs  10  minutes  to  cool  down  before
operation.
