Prior to beginning the actual troubleshooting procedure, SGT Gilmore

Hydraulic System Troubleshooting.

we will follow SGT Clarke as he troubleshoots an M977 for the
malfunction ONE OR MORE HYDRAULIC CIRCUITS NOT WORKING and reaches the
conclusion that the oil level in the reservoir is low and needs to be
replenished.
Prior to beginning the troubleshooting procedure, SGT
pages 43 and 44.
After these procedures have been performed, he
begins the actual troubleshooting procedures.
Step 1.
SGT Clarke checks the selector valve for faulty operation,
loose line connections, or damage.
Since the valve functions
properly, the line connections were not loose, and the valve showed no
outward signs of damage, he proceeds to step 2.
