Introduction
In the previous lessons and tasks, the general characteristics of the
high
mobility
multi-purpose
wheeled
vehicle
(HMMWV),
characteristics
and
operation of the 6.2 liter diesel engine, the drive train, and
the
suspension system were covered.
In this task, the characteristics
and
operation of the brake and steering systems will be discussed.

Brake System
There are two brake systems in use on the HMMWV. One is the service brakes,
and the other the parking brakes. The service brake system is a four wheel
