high
efficiency and impressive fuel economy.
(c) Power Stroke. With the initial burning of the fuel in the
precombustion chamber, the power stroke begins.
This initial
combustion reaction forces the injector fuel into the cylinder area
where combustion is completed.
The exploding gases push the piston
downward, providing power to the engine's crankshaft and, in turn, to
valve opens and the piston again moves up in the cylinder, this time
forcing out exhaust gases.
As the piston again reaches TDC, the
exhaust valve closes and the intake valve opens--and the entire
process starts all over again.

Air Induction System.
The air induction system performs two
vital functions.
at some point in its operation, some method must be devised to induct
This is the first and primary job of the air induction system.
(1) The second job of the air induction system is to filter the
air that has been inducted before it passes into the combustion
chamber. This is accomplished through the use of an air filter.
The following
statement can be made concerning the function of the air induction
the following components: an entry stack with raincap, paper air
duct, and an air restriction gage.
The air filter canister and intake stack are located on the right
side of the vehicle, forward of the windshield and just to the rear
of the engine compartment.
The filter paper filter element is
secured in the canister with a 5/8 inch nut and the canister cap
itself is secured with a clamp.
