When you inspect the front drive assembly of the M151 truck, use the same procedures
used on the rear. In addition, inspect the ball joints for serviceability and examine the
tires for excessive wear due to misalignment of steering components.
Use the same procedures for the 2 1/2-ton truck M35A2 to check the toe-in on the
M151. The toe-in on the M151 should be centered with the steering wheel approximately
1 5/16 turns back from the stop. One spoke of the steering wheel should be in line with
the center of the steering column. This is the straight-ahead position. The toe-in setting
is 1/32 to 5/32 inch.
