Let's assume you want to test the voltage in the circuit in Figure 21, which includes a set of
batteries. First, make sure the selector switch is off. Then, connect the test leads to the meter as
in the figure. The red lead connects to the positive (+) terminal and the black lead to the negative
(-) terminal. Next, connect the leads to the circuit to be tested. Remember, parallel or across the
circuit. Connect the red lead to the positive side and the black lead to the negative side. Now you
are ready to measure the voltage. Turn the selector switch to 100, and you have connected the
meter to the circuit.
